My Principles and Priorities
My key principle as the Member for Macedon will be to leave the Macedon electorate and Victoria in a better condition for our children and future generations than they are now.
My priority as the Member for Macedon will be to influence the rebuilding of Victoria and the promotion of regional Victoria and Macedon in particular.
We need better financial management in government. That starts with reviewing expenditure and cutting spending, in a responsible way. Billions of dollars have been wasted over the last 12 years - we cannot risk another 4 years of that continuing.
We need to revitalise the Victorian economy. We need to create industry and jobs in regional Victoria. Businesses are closing.
I do not support any political party. What I do support are good laws, and I don’t support bad or unnecessary laws. It’s that simple.
We need truth in political advertising to be a legislative requirement, with serious consequences for those who lie.
We need to ensure that education standards for our children are not compromised.
Numerous other areas need urgent government attention, including:
the poor state of many public schools (whilst the Government has built some new schools, many existing schools continue to have poor conditions)
the poor state of many roads
supporting industry and job opportunities in regional Victoria
the need to enhance IBAC powers
domestic violence
homelessness
housing
cost of living, especially energy prices
hospitals
better support and equipment for emergency services.
